First-Fruits:
Another form of the grain offering was the offering of first-fruits. Here, grain from fresh heads were roasted,
ground into a coarse meal, and presented with olive oil and incense. Grain, oil and wine were three basic components of the Israelites' diet.
This voluntary offering was given to express thanksgiving for the goodness of God in providing for their daily food and return to God
some of what he had given them. It also enabled the worshipers to express their desire and willingness to live according to God’s holy will.
This practice of making voluntary offerings to Heavenly Father is a central part of the New Testament believer's life.
