To Magnify a Calling in the Old Testament
No Room for Mistakes!
Heavenly Father had chosen the Israelites as his special people. They were set apart from the rest of the world to serve him only.
God had established a covenant with his people through Moses on Mount Sinai (Ten Commandments). The people were obligated to respond with obedience to God’s
love without hesitation. Heavenly Father would not be mocked by disobedience, especially by those people in the Old Testament who were attempting to magnify
a calling. God gave many commands concerning his tabernacle, temple and their contents. There are several instances recorded in the Old Testament relating
to these commands that demonstrated God’s requirement of committing no mistakes under any circumstances.
