After All You Can Do, Is It Good Enough?

As you reflect on your life consider: Is “all you can do” good enough?

Heavenly Father set apart his people, the Israelites, to be his own.  His love established a covenant between God and the Israelites with clear instructions on how to keep all of his commands.  He demanded his people to be holy and perfect.  Heavenly Father would not tolerate any infractions, mistakes or poor judgments.  In the Old Testament, we are given several examples of how God dealt with errors on the part of those who were attempting to magnify a calling.  Uzzah was struck dead by touching the Ark of the Covenant  2 Samuel 6:6-7.  Seventy people died by just peering into the ark  1 Samuel 6:19.  The two oldest sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, offered an unauthorized fire before the Lord and were immediately killed by God  Leviticus 10:1-2.  Finally, Achan’s keeping of some of the bounty from Jericho resulted in him and his whole family being stoned to death  Joshua 7:24-25.  In the New Testament, there is Ananias and Sapphira whose shocking story of poor judgment still resonates in our soul today.
