New Testament TemplesAll One Can Do

Heavenly Father has established a standard for his people.  He told the Israelite people in the Old Testament, “Ye shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy.”  Leviticus 19:2.  Heavenly Father tells us today, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.  Only one mistake is needed to be declared not perfect.  Only one poor judgment is needed to be guilty in the eyes of Heavenly Father.  Only one infraction and we are cast out of his presence forever into eternal darkness.

Jesus once told his disciples, “’It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.’  And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, ‘Who then can be saved.’  And Jesus looking upon them saith, ‘With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”  Mark 10:25-27.  Trying your best to be obedient is not good enough because we can never follow God’s law to perfection.  Besides, following God’s law makes nothing perfect.  “For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”  Hebrews 7:19.
