Heavenly Father’s Gifts to the Colossians:

Paul is opening his letter to the new congregation in Colosse. He is assuring the Colossians by telling them that they have been in his prayers ever since he heard of their faith
(verse 9). He gives them details about what he prays for on their behalf (verse 9). He explains to them why he asks Heavenly Father for those particular things
(verses 10-11). He tells them he thanks Heavenly Father for the gifts the Colossians have already received
(verse 12). Paul finishes by describing additional eternal gifts already received from Heavenly Father and his Son
