Have You Prayed About the Book of Mormon?
This FAQ addresses the question of praying to have the truth of the Book of Mormon confirmed.
The Book of Mormon contains a passage that instructs people to pray to Heavenly Father to have the Holy Spirit
confirm its truth.
Moroni 10:4: And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
When confronted with criticism of the Book of Mormon LDS members will often ask: “Have you prayed about the Book of Mormon?”.
Members will hold up their feeling that it is true as an impenetrable defense against any attempt to prove it false. But what if you
prayed earnestly about it and you did not get an intense burning feeling in your bosom?
