Did You Get the Feeling?:

Many LDS members report no reaction or feeling when praying about the Book of Mormon. Within LDS circles there are various responses to those who report no positive feeling of confirmation.  One is:  “Your prayer must not have been offered with a sincere heart”.  Another is:  “The truth was not revealed because you were not worthy enough for the Holy Spirit to come to you”.  And another is:  “You must have weak faith”.

Teachings of the Presidents of the Church – John Taylor (p 35):  As Latter-day Saints we believe this Gospel has been restored, and further, we know that we are in possession of it.  I do for one, and so do you; and through obedience to its principles and the reception of the Holy Ghost you Latter-day Saints do know that it is the work of God, and if you don't know it, it is because you are not living your religion and keeping the commandments of God;

Because of these reactions, LDS members who do not receive confirmation will often not make this public.  How can these members prove they are not deficient in some way?  It is often safer to confide their distress with a non LDS friend.  If you received no intense confirmation, you are not alone.
