When an LDS member realizes what their non-LDS Christian friends believe; that they already
have Eternal Life, the reaction is often incredulation! This is a foreign
concept. It defies the laws of God. How can an unclean person believe he or she can come into the presence of
God?
The answer to this baffling conundrum is found in the Miracle of
Forgiveness; that is, the
exchange of our guilty verdict for a bill of clean (spiritual) health.
The Gems in this Drawer are all red. This is to remind us of both the high cost of this
miracle and its catalyst, namely; the precious blood of Jesus Christ. While each of these Gems is red, each is
still different from the others. Many different minerals and crystals portray the color of the Atonement. The
Gems in this Drawer represent the variety which is illustrated in nature. Roll your mouse over the Gems to see the names of
these different minerals. These Gems also represent the variety of the many ways the
Miracle of Forgiveness is illustrated in scripture.
