Leviticus 19:2:
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. |
In the last Gem we witnessed Jesus speaking to
his disciples in the New Testament era. But his message was
nothing new. The Gem above was given some 1500 years earlier
but it displays the same message.
Heavenly Father calls on us to be holy,
because He is holy. What does it mean to be “holy”? It means to be
perfect in Heavenly Father’s sight. A holy person is someone who
has never done anything wrong. If there was ever a time when we
have done something that Heavenly Father does not want us to do or
failed to do what he has commanded of us, then we cannot be
considered holy. But Heavenly Father demands a holy and
perfect life from all people. Heavenly Father demands perfection.
He expects total holiness.
