Unforgivable Saint
Have you ever felt unforgivable? That is:
have you ever done something that is so bad you don’t think Heavenly
Father could ever forgive you? I have.
It
was late in Jesus’ ministry. As it turned out, it was the
evening before his crucifixion. As I reflect back on the
events of that day and the days to follow I still see it as though
through a whirlwind. So many things happening around me, so
many things I didn’t understand. I was in a fog. Some moments
swirl towards clarity, but most blur together into obscurity.
I was the unknowing participant in a journey of discovery;
experiencing and growing to understand one of Heavenly Father's
greatest mysteries.
These events are punctuated in my memory by a series of
images; images of Jesus’ eyes. A poet once said: “The
eyes are the window into the soul”. Imagine looking into the
soul of the Son of God! I did and what I saw rescued me from
the brink of ultimate despair.
