Peter's Preface A Colorful Character

All Things Work Together For Good:

I happen to be of the opinion that being a “colorful character” is a blessing.  You know, it is true what they say:  “You learn from your mistakes”.  In fact Heavenly Father promises  “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  (Romans 8:28)   You see Jesus didn’t train me using only words; he used the events of my life – especially the mistakes in my life, to reinforce his lessons.  One important lesson I learned in life was that I could afford to be bold.  I didn’t have to hold back.  Even when I was wrong, my Lord and God protected me, helped me to see my mistake and always forgave me!  He never abandoned me, never reduced or limited his support when I was weak.

You know what my great acts of faith and my moments of weakness say about me?  They say that I am human.  That I am just like you.  And that means you can apply the lessons of my life to your own.  My experience, my story recorded and preserved through the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit; is relevant to your life.  Join me in reading my Journals.  Learn from my successes; but particularly from my failures.  I can afford to be open about my mistakes and the lessons learned from them.  I can bring my sins into the open for they have all been forgiven because of what Jesus did.  I have nothing to fear from my weaknesses because it is not strength or success that gained me eternal life, but faith in this work of Jesus and in his resurrection.  Through the lessons of my life I grew in this faith to trust in my Lord’s offer of eternal life; even when chained and in prison.  I knew my inheritance was secure no matter what surprises life might bring, even if it was death!  This is the greatest lesson I learned.

1 Peter 1:3-4:  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you
